…Says the Dowager Duchess of Devonshire and last surviving member of the extraordinary ‘Mitford Girls’.
Daisy was a very lucky girl last week end and visited Chatsworth House, the ‘living here’ location referred to by the Dowager Duchess. Chatsworth is a veritable treasure trove of art and antiquities from all around the world with a priceless Rembrandt portrait on view, that those who visit the house can get right up close to… and I mean close, no scarlet roped off area keeping one 3 yards at bay!
How fitting then, that on returning to my own little week end pad in the Home Counties, I should discover this article all about Debo, as the 90 year old Duchess has been known since childhood, in Saga Magazine. Yes bloglets, Saga; quite fitting really, seeing as the Duchess more than meets the criteria ‘age-wise’ for their famous, specially priced, holidays and life assurance!!
